About Amy Boutwell, MD, MPP

Dr. Amy Boutwell is a nationally-recognized leader of efforts to transform healthcare delivery to improve quality and reduce costs.

Dr. Boutwell attended Stanford University, Brown Medical School and the Harvard Kennedy School of Government, from which she received the Robert F. Kennedy Award for Excellence in Public Service and during which she received the American Medical Association Foundation Leadership Award.

Dr. Boutwell served as an Albert Schweitzer Fellow in Boston, a community health worker in San Salvador, and as a volunteer at Mother Teresa’s Home for the Destitute and Dying in Calcutta.

Dr. Boutwell trained at the top internal medicine residency program in the world at the Massachusetts General Hospital and practiced as an attending physician for patients admitted to the MGH and Newton-Wellesley Hospitals for 20 years. Dr. Boutwell is board-certified in internal medicine, menopause care and lifestyle medicine.

Dr. Boutwell personally applies the principles of LIfestyle Medicine and is inspired by “Medicine 3.0” to improve and optimize her own healthspan and is training for her “centurian decathalon!”
